What it does: Formation of cells, bones and teeth, maintains acid-base balance

Food sources: All animal foods (meats, fish, poultry, eggs, milk)

Effects of Taking Too Much: Decreased absorption of calcium; at high levels, can join with calcium in the blood and form calcium deposits in soft tissue and also lead to porous bones
